About Flood Park
Flood Park is a retreat in the middle of urban Menlo Park, known for its large native oak and bay trees. San Mateo County is redesigning it through the Realize Flood Park project, which followed a multi-year community engagement process to set goals and priority uses for the park.
The first phase opened on June 7, 2025, with new picnic sites, sports courts, and a bike pump track. The pump track is a paved circuit of rollers and banked turns for bikes, skateboards, and scooters, where riders keep moving by pumping their bodies rather than pedaling or pushing. A new inclusive playground is part of the project plan.
