Burton W. Chace Park

Burton W. Chace Park occupies a 10-acre point jutting into the main channel of Marina del Rey, which gives it some of the best harbor views in the marina and a good spot for watching sunsets. It is set up for picnics and gatherings: three picnic shelters each seat up to 48 people with six tables and six barbecue grills, plus pergolas, wide lawns where children can play, and a multipurpose community room with a full kitchen and patios. Only Picnic Shelter A can be reserved; the other shelters and tables are first-come, first-served, with no saving tables. Rental spaces can be booked up to 90 days ahead for weddings, parties, and meetings.

The park hosts events throughout the year. The county runs free weekly programs here, such as a beginners' drawing and watercolor class, yoga, a walking club, and a Tuesday game night, and seasonal events include a fall festival, a summer drum circle, and the Holiday Boat Parade, which passes along the main channel in December. Boaters can tie up at the guest docks for up to seven nights within a 30-day period.

The park is wheelchair and stroller accessible and is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day; the office is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
