About Ralph B. Clark Regional Park
Ralph B. Clark Regional Park sits at the foot of the Coyote Hills in Buena Park, spreading over 104 acres on both sides of Rosecrans Avenue. The landscape runs from big open lawns to gently rolling hills planted with natives and up to sheer sandstone cliffs on the north side. Families come for the shaded picnic areas, playgrounds, hiking and biking trails, and a stocked three-acre lake where children can fish; an amphitheater overlooks the lake for outdoor plays and programs.
Sports facilities are a big part of the park: two sand volleyball courts, four tennis courts, and, on the 14-acre Clark Sports Complex north of Rosecrans, six fields for baseball, softball, football, and soccer, with restrooms and a concession building. Since April 2025 the complex has been run by ZT Parks, which takes field reservations for leagues, tournaments, and camps, including free summer sports camps and coaching clinics.
The park's Interpretive Center, opened in 1988, holds a paleontology collection on prehistoric Orange County, with exhibits, guided tours, and a lab where visitors can watch scientists and volunteers prepare fossils. It normally opens Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. but is closed for improvements through December 2026. Park hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in fall and winter and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in spring and summer, and parking is $3 per vehicle on weekdays and $5 on weekends.
