About Coyote Creek Parkway

Coyote Creek Parkway follows Coyote Creek for 15 miles between Hellyer County Park and Anderson Lake County Park. A paved multi-use trail runs the whole length. It is fairly flat, winds along the creek under oaks, cottonwoods, and sycamores, and is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, skaters, and rollerbladers of all ages. South of Metcalf Road, an equestrian trail runs alongside the pavement. Rest areas are spaced along the route, but no drinking water is available.

The parkway also includes the Santa Clara County model airfield, where pilots need an approved parks permit or membership in the Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark club. Disc golf and fishing are among its other activities, and leashed dogs are welcome. At the Coyote Creek Visitor Center, Agents of Discovery, a free mobile game in English and Spanish, follows a 30- to 45-minute loop trail and teaches about the creek's wildlife.

The parkway is open from 8 a.m. to sunset, with no entrance fee. The visitor center at 19245 Malaguerra Avenue in Morgan Hill and the Silver Creek Valley Road entrance in San José both have free parking and restrooms, and the parkway can also be reached by public transit. The offices at Hellyer and Anderson Lake county parks handle questions about the parkway.
